These water goblets are not only beautiful, but they are a magical conversation piece. These water goblets actually change color! The pictures show the same glasses in different lights. They magically transform from lilac to light blue to clear depending on the light. There is a name and a science to it.
These goblets are dichroic meaning the glass displays two different colors; one color is when when light is transmitted through it and another color when it is reflected off its surface. This effect is achieved by applying multiple thin layers of different materials to the glass surface. The colors shift depending on the viewing angle due to interference effects between light waves. I’m not sure I understand that completely but it works!
These water goblets are in excellent condition. There are no chips, damage due to dishwashers or scratches.
They measure 9 1/4” tall and 4 1/8” at the mouth.
They were produced from 2001 - 2002.
