Bing & Grondahl Dickie Child Figurine - Denmark. Bing and Grondahl, established 1853, is known for quality craftsmanship and is highly collectible. With influences from Chinese blue and white porcelains, the company emerged producing figurines and plates in a technique called underglazing. The underglaze technique allows for the soft, watercolor appearance. The glossy porcelain figurine, designed by artist Ingeborg Plockross Iminger, is of a young boy either playing marbles or picking up something - some have pictured the figurine with geese or ducks. Stunning design for any home decor. Wonderful gift for the mother of a young boy.
Estate find in very good condition with no issues. Stamped #1636 KJ (artist) on one foot with 'Made in Denmark" in green and B&G in blue on other foot. C1970-82 based on the B&G in blue and green letters stamp under foot. (White camera flash marks, apologies). Measurements approximate - 3.75" H
