This is an original Watt Rooster series, 16 oz. pottery pitcher. It is labeled on the bottom, #15 within a circle, characteristic of Watt pottery. It is made of a type of earthenware called yellowware, appropriately named for its yellow-hued appearance of the clay used for its production.
The Rooster series was created in the 1950s, hand painted in bold brush strokes so no 2 are exactly alike. These Watt pieces are highly collectible kitchenware pottery.
